Again, an expression that is making me mad.

Narrator 「翼くん このボールをとってみずから ドリブルにはいります」

I have the feeling that とってみず is the same as とってみ(る)ない , (the negative shape of a verb) but I don't know what to think here. What does it mean ? Tsubasa, without even trying to touch the ball, started to dribble/juggle ? why is there a から、after it?

Thank you

新しい言葉だなー

知らなかったのです。いつも有難う、とりとりべさん

I'd like to take the opportunity to ask one more thing, no need for another thread:

「翼くんは3人マークだ」
「大丈夫、ほかのやつらのシュートなら少しぐらい 守りにスキできても この俺か取ってやる」
「それより、なにをおいても 翼だ」

Is なにをおいても a set expression? I can't figure out the meaning of the bolded part

Right. That's a set phrase the same meaning as 何はさておき

Seems like today is one of those "learn 100 new words at once" days.

Thank you Toritori

You'll most frequently encounter it with kanji: 自ら

Too bad the manga had it written in hiragana. Sometimes I feel like one third of my problems would be easier to solve if the words were written more in kanji and less in hiragana. Thats a strange thing this "shounen" manga avoids easier kanji like 自ら , but writes てっていてき as 徹底的.
