    Hojo Tokiyori

    Hōjō Tokiyori (1227-1263) served as the Kamakura shogunate's fifth regent. He consolidated his clan's power by eliminating political rivals, such as the Miura clan. He was central in the development of Zen in Kamakura. His sculpture is exhibited in the Kamakura Museum.
