Morito Sakura no Shizuku (森戸酒造 桜の雫) is classified as seishu (清酒). Seishu is regular sake is also known as futsūshu (普通酒). It is dry with a mild and crisp taste. Sakura no Shizuku is brewed with special sake yeast, which professor emeritus Nakata Kubo (中田久保) of the Tōkyō University of Agriculture's Sake Brewing Laboratory has succeeded in isolating from the natural sakura flower in a method called sakura kōbojikomi (さくら酵母仕込み).
Sakura no Shizuku is good cold or warmed up, and its mild and crisp dry taste makes it a versatile sake suitable for Japanese and Western and Chinese cuisine.

Morito Brewery (森戸酒造) is located in Higashiizumi, Yaita, Tochigi Prefecture, an area blessed with clear and abundant underground water and a truly pristine environment. It was founded in 1874 and had been brewing sake under the brand name "Juichi Masamune" (十一正宗) for more than 140 years. Other brands are Takahara (たかはら) and Shojinzawa (尚仁沢). Under its fifth-generation brewmaster, Morito Yasuo (森戸康雄), the brewery has skillfully succeeded in combining old traditions with the latest brewing technology.
