Kyōhime Junmai Daiginjō Murasaki (京姫 純米大吟醸 紫) has a delicate and elegant aroma and a graceful and elegant sweetness that makes it easy to drink. It is especially delicious when served cold or at room temperature. The design is based on "The Tale of Genji" and the Aoi Festival (葵祭), one of the three major festivals in Kyōto. The Futaba hollyhock leaves (双葉葵の葉) express the elegance of Kyōto—a Junmai Daiginjō with a smooth taste and a soft umami and sweetness of rice.

Fushimi in Kyōto has been a thriving sake brewing town since ancient times. Blessed with abundant underground water veins that spring forth from the hills of Momoyama, it was once called "Fushimizu". (伏水) It is said that full-scale brewing started about 400 years ago. As a castle town and a port on the Yodo River on the Tokaido road, the white-walled sake breweries along the Uji River and the Odo River have been flourishing ever since. Kyōhime Shuzō was founded in 1818 as Okamoto Shuzō (岡本酒造) and in 1997 changed its name to Kyōhime to commemorate the 1200th anniversary of the founding of Heiankyō (平安京), taking the "Kyō" from Heiankyō and the "Hime" from Shinsō no himegimi (深窓の姫君).
