Hananomai Junmai Ginjo

An elegant and light Junmai Ginjō sake made from 100% Yamada Nishiki produced in Shizuoka.
Colour / hue
The label states it's a "junmai ginjo" but based on the alcohol content and the milling rate it's a "純米吟醸Light", a lower-alcohol sake (14.5%). Of tanrei character and very dry, it has a strong herbal and pungent nose; spicy and crisp mouthfeel, acidic finish with a notably herbal aftertaste. Although quite palatable, especially on the second try, I admit I couldn't quite get used to its herbal character.
