The summer-type Karine is promoted as belonging to a new kind of fruit-like sake. It has a rich sweetness reminiscent of white peach yet a sharp and crisp acidity and a pleasant lingering finish. It goes well with dishes that use cheese and spices and can be enjoyed in a wide range of casual situations, from aperitifs to mid-dinner drinks and even with desserts.

It is probably too sweet for more traditional sake aficionados, but I am sure it is popular with those who enjoy sweet alcoholic drinks on the rocks.
