According to the brewery, Tenzan Jizake Junmai Genshu (天山 地酒 純米原酒) is one of its most popular sake in Japan and overseas. With its rich aroma of banana, umami and 'rice sweetness,' it goes well with rich and savoury dishes. The bottle comes wrapped in bamboo leaves and makes an excellent gift.

About the brewery:

Tenzan Brewery was founded in 1875, when Shichida Tsuki and Shichida Toshimitsu, who were both engaged in the milling and noodle industry, inherited the brewery from a nearby sake brewery that was going out of business. The brewery is located in Ogi, Saga Prefecture, at the foot of Mount Tenzan, and run by the sixth-generation tōji Shichida Kensuke (七田謙介).

This is a genshu: undiluted sake with an alcohol content of 18%. It has a strong nose of koji, almonds, and banana. Strong, alcoholic, and sweet aroma with fruity hints. Smooth and creamy, slightly dry and bitter finish. The box and the bamboo wrap are really unique.
