What's new

Spring semester over!

It's odd, but the spring semester is already over. Last semester seems like forever ago. It's a very surreal feeling, especially when I consider I only have two more years to go. When I think back to what I did first semester it seems like it was all in freshman year. The party my friends threw for my birthday could have been two years ago for all I know. And yet, here I am at the end of my second year in college. Hell I can't believe I've been here on JREF for three years now! I try not to subscribe to the old adage that life is short and time flies as you get older because at first glance, yes, everything seems like it has flown by. But when I stop and think about it, it seems like it has been a very long time. At first glance, high school seems like it was just yesterday. But the more I think of all the things I have done since then it seems like a life-time ago. Yes, it's crazy that I'm already twenty years old, but then I stop and really think hard about my life so far and realize it's not nearly as short as I think it is. Maybe that's why people like to stick to the old cliché that life is short. They just don't stop and think about everything they have done in life. I hope I never grow old and tell the generation after me that life is short. Because the truth is it's not, or that's what I believe anyway. Most of us haven't even lived half of our lives yet so it's hard to imagine living another 30-50 years. If I grow old complaining that life is short chances are I just regret not doing things in life I could have when I was younger. When I was a wee lad, a year seemed like forever. Today, at the ripe old age of 20, it still seems like forever. The only difference is what I do in that year.
