Nature.com articles: Japanese science faces deep cuts/Scientists protest

These are two articles (found originally by ooilingfan) on the budget cuts going on in Japan by their new government. I still find it interesting that after each Prime Minister of the last however many years got run out of office because they tried to change things, Japan ended up electing the other party for change. I wonder how long these guys will last...
