Does anyone know if there are word for word translations available anywhere of Japanese songs? Particularly of Asian Kung-Fu Generation or of the (first) Naruto openings, as I'm watching the raw episodes now and will listen to them a lot. If there aren't any available I will take a shot at some translations myself and post them so others can use them and comment on their accuracy.
Cheers.

The translation given on that site contains mistakes sadly, e.g.: 偽る事に慣れた君の世界を塗り潰すのさ、白く → "Your world will become a thing of deceit painted all in white". Maybe the translator based themselves on the romaji and mixed up 慣れる with 成る?

By "word for word translation", the OP most likely means "as a machine would do it":
偽る・事・に・慣れた・君の・世界を・塗り潰すのさ、白く
Deceive thing to used your world paintcrush, whitely.
While this lets you match each Japanese word to the corresponding English one, the result is nonsense of course :). As such I doubt that "translations" in this style exist.

First of all thanks for the comments.
@Mike Cash: I don't mean transcriptions. These are easily found online.
@lanthas: I understand that Japanese in particular is hard to translate literally, but I think approximations are still possible. You can translate a lot of individual words for example and say what's the function of a particle in a sentence and maybe how a verb is conjugated.

I started trying to translate haruka kanata yesterday and this is somewhat what I had in mind (mind you it's incomplete and not a very good translation. Also it's not very neat, a table or something might be neater. I'm planning to expand on it later today.)
EDIT: I JUST NOTICED THE BIG SPACINGS WHICH SEPARATED THE WORDS WERE REMOVED WHEN I POSTED SO IT'S (EVEN) LESS NEAT NOW:

"totte" is a very basic conjugation (te-form) of a very basic verb (toru, to take). Apart from that, even this simple list of dictionary lookups contains a bunch of mistakes - which is unavoidable if you start from romaji since Japanese has a lot of homonyms. Try looking up "taishou" for example.

You also shouldn't base yourself on amateur translations like on JPopAsia since those are likely to contain errors. Not just in the translation, but in the romaji transliteration as well (muritsubusu should've been nuritsubusu).

It might be best for you to delay attempts at translating song lyrics until after you've studied the language some more... You're doing yourself a disservice with this kind of guesswork.
