I'm looking for information comparing/contrasting uji and ie in the Sengoku Period . I've found very faint traces of information on Samurai Wiki, but apparently my google skills aren't turning much up.

It's my understanding that Uji were rather antiquated, but sort of still important as a heritage thing and that ie came to the forefront.

Where do Daimyo fit into all of this?

Did Daimyo lead uji, ie? Or were they not even relevant to either as a leader?

Who led uji and ie?

I also just realized this is the China sub-forum. So, my apologies. I'm trying to find a way to delete or move the thread.

Are you talking about stand-alone words "uji" and "ie"? Isn't it suffixes "-shi" and "-ke", such like 徳川氏 "Tokugawa-shi" and 徳川家 "Tokugawa-ke"?
