Everything looks good to me. I see nothing that needs changing.

- For 3 (9), I would treat as correct any of the following words in the final blank: baking / cooking / making.

- Although your students will probably not write it, for 4 (10), you can also say 'I will turn seventeen (years old) next week.'

- For 4 (11), I would also treat as correct 'that museum' in addition to 'the museum'.

- For 4 (12), I would also treat as correct 'that shop/store'.

- For 4 (14), I would also treat as correct 'eat much rice'.

Thanks for the help, joadbres. I appreciate it.

I'm glad to hear that.

How about "I'm going to turn seventeen (years old) next week"?
- For 4 (14), I would also treat as correct 'eat much rice'.
Oh, really? I thought that would sound off. You don't say, "I have much money with me" etc. , do you? In which case do you use "much" or "many" in an affirmative sentence. You don't say, "I have many friends in Japan", do you?

How about "I'm going to turn seventeen (years old) next week"?

勿論です. I didn't think it was necessary to explicitly mention that.

You don't say, "I have much money with me" etc. , do you? In which case do you use "much" or "many" in an affirmative sentence. You don't say, "I have many friends in Japan", do you?

In casual conversation, in affirmative sentences, 'a lot of' / 'lots of' is more common than 'much' or 'many'. But 'much' (不可算名詞) and 'many' (可算名詞) are not grammatically incorrect, and therefore should not be treated as incorrect on a test.

In your two example sentences, 'I have much money with me' is less natural than 'I have a lot of money with me' but is not grammatically incorrect. 一方, 'I have many friends in Japan' is completely natural (as is 'I have a lot of friends in Japan'), and something you are quite likely to hear.
