I own an antique store and on occasion I pick up some unusual Japanese items with a good bit of age. My latest is a scroll. I was wondering if I could get a translation on what the story is on the scroll. Thanks in advance. Matt

It is dated December 1727. It carries a reference to Uesugi Kenshin/Terutora, but I don't know if it is just a reference, or if it is the person being portrayed. Uesugi Kenshin one of the famuous feudal lords of the warring states era of Japan (this era predates the scroll by over a hundred years).

It is written in kanbun style, which is a sort of classical writing style based on Chinese - so it is doubly tough to translate, and is beyond my skill.
