I searched my dictionary and there were so many words that popped out: kenage, isamashii, yuukan and souretsu. Do all of these mean the same?

In English, "brave" can be an adjective, a verb, and a noun.

So the only difference between kenage, isamashii, etc. Is that some can also be verbs/nouns as well as adjectives?
Other than the difference in meaning;
kenage: noun / the stem of an adjective
isamashii: adjective
yûkan: noun / the stem of an adjective
sôretsu: noun / the stem of an adjective
yûsha: noun

You didn't tell us which way you meant "brave". The answer is different depending on how you're using it in English.

Okay then. I was thinking along the lines of a fearless person. Like a guy who isn't afraid of haunted houses because he is so brave.

What I can think of now is "gôketsu". (or "yûkan na hito", "yûki ga aru hito". These are phrases, not words, though.)
