Help with WWII item from grandfather

My grandfather was an army captain during WWII. He was a medic, but did some fighting in the jungles of Burma and India under Merrill and Stillwell. My father tried to get some help from a Japanese coworker, but he said what it said was so horrible that he didn't want to tell my dad what it was. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you so much for the response. I'd really like to return it the owner's family. Are you saying that the comfort bag and flag belong to two different people?
