こんにちは、皆さん。元気ですか。文法の質問がふたつある。Today I covered the use of ばかりでなく and のに. From what I understand you use ばかりでなく after the dictionary form of a verb and follow it up with another verb. It basically means "Not only does he do X he also does Y. " Secondly the use of のに. This pattern is a clause followed by のに and then another clause. It translates you are doing B to do A.I am sorry I if I did not do a great job explaining how the grammar works. If it is a problem I will do better on my next post.

父は電車を運転するばかりなく飛行機も作る。 Not only does my Dad drive trains, he also builds plains.
日本に行くのに飛行機の切符が要る。I need a plain ticket to go to Japan.

よろしくお願いします。じゃ、また。

You're not asking for help, right? It looks good to me except plain should be plane.
Also in typical day to day writing you won't usually see the kanji used for 要る. But for 勉強 purposes it's fine.

Thanks for pointing that out. That slipped past me. How in the world do you build plains?
