Hello,

I walked through my local cemetery earlier this week and found some stones completely in Japanese with lots of kanji. Some of them are exceptionally worn down.

I have hosted the photos on my server. Where there is an "a" between the numbers and the ".jpg" it is my attempt to make the writing more legible by playing with contrast and color in Photoshop.

Any help you can give me would be appreciated. I would like to put the stone images on findagrave.com and include names and dates if possible.

The directory of images is here: Index of /Headstones

Thank you for your time and any help you are able to provide,

Carissa

Thank you very much for your reply. So I don't get it completely messed up can you bold or color the family name/surname which has been romanized?

Hello,

I visited my local cemetery today and found many headstones in what I believe are Japanese. It's a lot of kanji writing. There were several Japanese headstones with the names written in Latin characters beside. Some might be Chinese... due to the large amount of kanji I can't quite tell which are which.

Can I get some assistance in translating/transliterating?

Anything with an "a" before the ".jpg" is my attempt to bring better contrast to the image. The images are at the following location:
