Hi all,
What does 迷い鳩 mean? Is it like 迷い子 for lost child?
My dictionary says 鳩 is a pigeon or dove. So lost pigeon or dove?

I wish you could see the look on my face right now....wondering why I put so much time into answering your LAST question just to have you ignore it and move right along to the next thing. That's some rude sh!t.

I'm sorry mikesan, I didn't mean to come across as ungrateful.
That word appears by itself in a 目次.
So I have no other reference.
迷う can mean hesitation, bewilderment, doubt etc
鳩 pigeon or dove.

Once again I'm sorry if it seemed like I ignored your suggestion it was not my intention.

Table of contents of what? There's always context - I presume this book didn't fall out of the sky and the word 迷い鳩 is not the only readable part.

It may be a reference to 迷子, who knows. Normally titles and similar are the last translated for a reason. Read the part of the text it refers to and it will probably become obvious.

Hi nekojitasan,
Its the title page of a book. It has 4 chapters.
The first is..

1 かまいたち (kaimaitachi character of book)
2 師走の客 (Decembers visitor)
3 迷い鳩 (?)
4 騒ぐ刀 (Swooshing sword)

I thought I may have been a set expression or similar of the Edo Period.
Thanks

迷い猫: lost cat / stray cat

Thus, your interpretation "lost pigeon/dove" is correct.
