2nd sentence from here -
Context: A girl from a brothel tried to run away with some guy, but they got caught. The person who caught the guy asks what the brothel manager did with her (1st sentence), then the manager replies with the 2nd sentence.
I'm wondering about the かと part. Does か just add uncertainty (with 思う omitted)?
As in - "I let my "young one" deal with that. I think she's most likely getting scolded (a bit uncertainty from か)."
I don't think it's a quote of what he asked the "young one" to do since 据える is passive + progressive.

Thanks.

Yes, your interpretation "か just adds uncertainty (with 思う omitted)" is correct.
