Tokugawa Memorial Foundation

The Tokugawa Memorial Foundation was established in 2003, the quadricentennial of the creation of the Tokugawa Shogunate. Its objective is to preserve and administer the historical objects and documents that have been passed down in the Tokugawa Shogunal
How can I send you an email? I cannot read Japanese.
About 40 years ago I purchased a superb bronze Japanese urn. It weighs about 12 kgs. Its feet (3) are beautifully cast bulky males.
The urn has what appears to me to be a Tokugawa mon on it.
I wondered if you could tell me more about it and whether it really belongs in Japan.
I bought the urn after it had been passed in 3 times at an auction. I was the top bidder each time and finally did a deal with the auctioneer. He told me the urn had been in the hands of a collector for many years. Although I have no reason for thinking this I did wonder if it arrived in New Zealand after being looted by occupying forces after World War 2.
Do hope you can help me.

Hi Richard, this is a link directory, not a means of communicating with the Tokugawa Memorial Foundation. I suggest you start a thread on our forum and describe your situation and the artefact you refer to. Also, post a photo if you have one.
