The Japan Association of Travel Agents (一般社団法人日本旅行業協会, JATA) is an industry group of travel agencies (travel industry). Since the annual membership fee is higher than that of the Japan Association of Travel Agents, many of its members are large-scale travel agencies of the first and second categories. It used to be an incorporated association under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism jurisdiction. Still, due to the reform of the public interest corporation system, it transitioned to a general incorporated association on 1 April 2011.
