Enoshima is an island off the coast of Kanagawa. It is a small island, roughly 4 km in diameter, at the Katase River source, which passes into the Sagami Bay of Kanagawa Prefecture. Enoshima is a section of Fujisawa's inland city and is connected by a bridge of 389 meters to the Katase area of the city.
It's famous for the Enoshima Shrine, which features sculptures of the Buddhist goddess Benzaiten. It is also host to the Enospa hot springs and the Samuel Cocking Garden, which features a 19th-century English-style lighthouse and a tower called the Sea Candle. Tidal pools and Buddhist sculptures can be found in the Iwaya Caves. The island is visible from famous inland beaches.
